Christopher Diaz

Christopher is a singer, songwriter, arranger and vocal coach from Newport News, VA. A graduate of the FSU School of Music, they led the co-ed All-Night Yahtzee to three consecutive ICCA Finals appearances and is a two-time winner of the Outstanding Soloist award. As a coach, Christopher has adjudicated, sung and instructed at vocal festivals across Asia, Europe, Australia and the US. In 2012, Christopher joined the music team of The Sing-Off (Season 3). After the show, they co-founded the international touring group, The Exchange, which has performed hundreds of shows for audiences in over 25 different countries on 6 continents. The Exchange joined The Backstreet Boys as support for their 32 city “In A World Like This” stadium tour, and competed on Season 5 of NBC’s The Sing-Off, taking the runner-up title. In 2016, Christopher and The Exchange toured central Asia as part of a cultural diplomacy tour supported by the US Department of State.

Jon Smith

Jon is a vocalist, arranger, director, vocal coach, and recording engineer from Long Island, New York. He was a Tenor in the five-time Grammy winning vocal group, The Swingles for 8 years. He is also a university lecturer in Voice at BIMM Bristol. Before joining The Swingles, Jon was the Music Director of Hyannis Sound, Cape Cod’s all-male professional vocal group. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Delaware where he also studied Music Education. While on tour with The Swingles, Jon has had the chance to sing alongside world-renowned artists such as Gareth Malone, Kurt Elling, New York Voices, and The Real Group. Jon specializes as a coach and masterclass clinician for high school, collegiate, and professional singing groups all across the world, many of whom have gone on to receive high placements and special awards at competitions for their performances.

Mel Daneke

Mel is a contemporary performer, arranger, producer, and educator. Mel graduated from Ithaca College in December of 2013 with a B.M. in Vocal Performance, minor in Audio Production, and also studied Music Education. She’s traveled to Germany performing in the International Performing Arts Institute to further her performance training. While at school, Mel directed Ithaca College’s female identifying a cappella group, Premium Blend. Mel currently performs with two internationally renowned and award winning vocal bands-- Musae (Beatboxer + DJ) and Six Appeal (singer). She’s traveled extensively headlining and performing at festivals in Hong Kong, Taiwan, London, Edinburgh, Paris, Germany, and all over the United States. Her performances and CARA-nominated production has appeared on compilations like Sing, BOHSA, Voices Only, and Voices Only Forte. Mel’s work has won over 25 Contemporary A Cappella Awards, 15 A Cappella Video Awards, and continues to be recognized as a member of The Recording Academy.

Rob Dietz

Rob is a multiple award-winning singer and vocal percussionist who has been arranging, composing, teaching, and performing contemporary a cappella music for over twenty years. Based in Los Angeles, Rob is best known for his work as an arranger and group coach for NBC’s The Sing-Off. Through his work as an arranger, Rob has had the pleasure of collaborating with some of the top talent in the vocal music world including Grammy award-winning groups Pentatonix and The Swingles, Voiceplay, Kings Return, and many more. He has been a contributing arranger for performances by world renowned artists including Smokey Robinson, Flo Rida, Sara Bareilles, Incubus, and Pat Benatar. His arrangements have been featured on several TV shows, including America’s Got Talent (NBC), To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You (Netflix), and Pitch Slapped (Lifetime). Rob has a deep passion for a cappella education, and is a founding co-director (along with Ben Bram and Avi Kaplan) of A Cappella Academy. In addition to his work with Academy, Rob is also the director of Legacy: an auditioned, community youth a cappella group based in Los Angeles.

Matt Goldstein

FESTIVAL CHOIR FACILITATOR

Matt Goldstein is an award-winning vocal arranger, facilitator, singer/songwriter, and educator who is dedicated to building community through collaborative musical creation. After earning acclaim for the emotive, innovative arrangements he crafted for The Vassar Devils and Hyannis Sound, Matt has gone on craft over 200 custom vocal arrangements for ensembles around the world. He has earned numerous CARA awards, and his arranging work has garnered him accolades at a cappella festivals such as the ICCA, BOSS, and SoJam. Most recently, Matt founded Gaia Music Collective, a community arts organization and performance collective that emerged in New York City in 2021. Through Gaia, Matt leads weekly circle singing sessions, open mic nights, drop-in choirs, and house shows that seek to break down the barriers between performer & audience. Matt’s mission with Gaia is to facilitate experiences that allow singers to express themselves freely, build community with artistic peers, and connect with the powerful currents of music that flow in and around us all.
