Literally The Best Folks To Plan A Music Event, Probably Ever

The History of NACC

The National A Cappella Convention began as a dream of Dr. J.D. Frizzell in 2014, who wanted to create a transformative and definitive event for contemporary a cappella singing in the United States. He reached out to fellow educators and a cappella experts to make it happen.

Working with the board of the A Cappella Education, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, they hosted the first NACC in 2015 in Memphis, TN.

Within a couple of years, NACC became one of the biggest and best contemporary vocal music conferences in the world. By 2019, it had outgrown its first home at Briarcrest in Memphis. The leaders of the AEA had a vision for something beyond the scope of anything that had been done in the a cappella space-- an event entirely hosted on one beautiful campus where attendees can sleep, eat, learn, perform, and connect within a short walk.

To this end, they moved to Orlando, Florida for its ease of access with flights, perfect spring weather, proximity to theme parks, and plethora of venue possibilities.

Now in its 10th year, NACC continues to provide access to life changing performance opportunities, immersive learning experiences, and collaborative social events. It is where newcomers go to be inspired, the best go to be even better, strangers go to make new friends, and groups of all styles, skill levels, and backgrounds go to be renewed. It is the dream trip for choir directors who want a life changing opportunity for their students without stress. It is the mountaintop moment for performers and directors. It is exactly what you've been looking for.
